I have been happily married to my wife for the past 19 years; we have 3 strong out going children that I am very proud of. I am a Business Owner of a construction company, Byers Construction which I started 10 years ago. I currently have 15 employees that work for me and we continue to grow in size each year. Success comes from what you put into something whether it is your marriage, hobby, life or job. I am a commitment determined person in all aspect of my life. I am known for doing the right thing. I believe that doing the right thing always pays off. One of my favorite says is “It is by taking chances that we succeed.”

I have enjoyed dogs for as long as I can remember. From the time I was 5 years old I can remember coming home from kindergartner and having our family dog “Bernie” just a mix breed waiting at the door for me to take him out into the field to go run and play together. The biggest influence in my desire to become a dog trainer was when I was in 6th grade and our school had a field trip to the Fort Wayne Allen County Sheriffs Department K-9 Units demonstration. I was so fascinated by the way the Police Officers could have the dogs go through the obstacle course, track down good & bad people, do obedience and the protection; that I convinced my parents to let me purchase a German Shepherd dog and I began training. I have trained dogs for: Narcotics & Bomb Detections, K-9 Law Enforcement Officers, Tracking, Search & Rescue, Hunting & Retrieving, and Schutzhund. I am currently a member of Fort Wayne Working Dog Association, 3 Rivers Working Dog Association, DVG, Schutzhund USA, a Certified Helper for DVG and Schutzhund USA. I am currently working and competing my own German Shepherd in Schutzhund.
